There has been a major realignment of prophetic thinking going on among Bible students recently. It would not be an exaggeration to say that end-times teaching is going through a transition away from the popular views which held sway over the last century or so. There is also a noticeable trend to Preterism which seems to be, unfortunately, a shift from one extreme to the other. But it is understandable; people are sick of the nonsense - failed predictions etc - so they are opting for the safe (but unimaginative) theories which place prophecy in the past.
